Expanding My Collection

Hi Cyber Girlfriends! Thank you all so much for commenting on my Maui photos. I am happy that you enjoyed them as much as I did :) All has settled down for me, my car has been repaired, (the clutch had to be replaced but the part had to come from Germany. Crikey! Thankful it is under warranty!!!). I finally had some free time to sit down & stamp :) My DH knew I had been eyeballin' PTI products for awhile now, so he took it upon himself & ordered some goodies for me! I loooove new toys :) My introduction to stamping began with SU. I am very comfortable working with red rubber stamps & have been leery of clear stamps. After making my first card using PTI clear stamps, I am hooked! I am curious, what material do you girls prefer to stamp with, red rubber, clear or both? You know how I love comments, so please let me know! Our dear friend, Bill, lost his 82 yr. old mother this week. I made this Sympathy card for him & his wife, Cathy, expressing our love. My color scheme was inspired by this week's Splitcoast Color Inspiration Challenge, CC226 (I had to use SU Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel & Bashful Blue) & the sketch layout was inspired by Kazan's Sketch 30 at 2 Sketches 4 You. Be Sweet!

Ingredients Used:

Paper: SU Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Ink: SU Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip

Stamps: PTI Everyday Classics, Spiral Bouquet

Sprinkles: We R Memory Keepers hardware, Offray ribbon, SU distressing tool

The card is lovely. I can't wait to check out your clear stamps. I've always been drawn to them but I was leary of the quality of the stamped image based on what other people have told me. Looking at your card, those PTI stamps have no problems with the quality of the stamped image. Are they sold in any of the local stores or do you have to get them online?

Just lovely designing as usual, Mona. To answer your question....I have been 'old school', as they say, when it comes to rubber. Since being a rubber stamp store owner, we only ever had red rubber on WOOD MOUNTS! Kinda like vinyl vs. CD's, isn't it?! After selling most of my 2000 wood mounted stamp collection, I now have a healthy collection of clear, but I do have some red rubber, unmounted and still a wall full of wood mounts. Long answer, so thank you for indulging me!
Have a great evening...always look forward to your posts....Julie

Good morning from gloomy England! This is a very special card! Very lovely! Your paper design is just perfect. I am a mixed clear and rubber gal! I probably have a bit more clears at this point! I think you will be quite happy with your clear experience! From the looks of this card, I think you've got it spot on at this point!
Cheers,
Constance

I love this PTI set! You created a beautiful card and I especially love the paper pattern! Just the best!
For the record, I've never really had good luck with clear stamps; I have a few but mainly a rubber girl!

gorgeous card...I actually prefer red rubber...I think it "takes" to ink much better..

Beautiful card!
I don't mind clear stamps but prefer rubber as I can use them in anything and not worry about them. By that I mean I can stamp into embossing powder etc. I'm not a clean stamper ;)

Your cards are so imaginative and creative. This might be one of the very best! Glad you are expanding into the clear stamp world. I'm a true believer. PTI is one of my favorite brands! Enjoy!

Mona!! What can I say? Even though this card is meant for a very sad occassion, I just can;t help but feel that each one of your cards out-does the other!! What a BEAUTY of a card!! As for the stamps prefer - I love both however I have been finding that I'm leaning more towards the clear stamps as of late as they allow me to view and align where I want the stamp to go on my card and I don't have to use my stampamajig all the time!! So you're the only one hooked on clear stamps!! Have you ever checked out MSE (My sentiments Exactly) stamps?? they have some super super cute clear stamp sets - check them out. Adrienne offers 75% off the stamp sets she uses on her Watch me Wednesday videos on her blog, every Thursday - GREAT deals!!! So be sure to check that out!
Lots of Hugs
Eve
