Abstract Art Journaling 26

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, November 17, 2015 @ 9:56 PM | , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great week! Today I have a couple of abstract pages to share in my over sized art journal.
I have an appreciation for abstract art and would love to get better at creating it so what better way to start by pulling out an over sized art journal and start painting?! My source of inspiration was an on line Donna Downey class.
My hand drawn flowers and circles are a bit wonky but it's abstract art right? ;) LOL Obviously there's always room for improvement but if I don't start somewhere, I'll never improve.

I'm joining along with the PaperArtsy challenge where the theme is to create a piece of Abstract Art.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Friends and Family 34

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, November 15, 2015 @ 10:49 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I have a mixed media style Christmas card to share:
I combined a variety of my favorite products and techniques to create this card.
The doe was die cut using a Sizzix Tim Holtz die, painted with Distress Paint then dusted with Distress Glitter. The background was created using a piece of water color paper, painted with Gesso, then I applied texture and design using a Heidi Swapp stencil along with texture paste. Once the background was dry, I randomly applied embossing ink followed with embossing powder and heat creating a winter wonderland like background:
I stamped a sentiment from a PTI stamp set using Ranger Adirondack Ink, trimmed to size then inked the edges with Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink:
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
for theme inspiration, I joined along with the current Mixed Media Monthly Card challenge where the theme is Family:
for sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current retro sketches sketch challenge:
and for color inspiration, I joined along with the current color throwdown color challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have enjoyed my card.

Hi there! I'm getting into the holiday spirit how about you? Today I have a Christmas card to share featuring a combination of products from various companies. I too love the latest and greatest products but I also love the ones I have managed to hoard / collect over the years. I pulled out a stamp set and coordinating punch as well as pretty patterned paper that I purchased from Stampin' Up more than 10 years ago:
I also dies from both PTI and MFT:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the current Merry Monday Christmas challenge:

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas 28

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, November 11, 2015 @ 7:34 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Happy Veteran's Day! Many thanks to all the women and men who are currently serving and have served to protect the United States of America. Today I have several vintage Christmas ornaments to share featuring repurposed tart tins that my daughter has gathered.
Using various colors of Prima Color Bloom sprays, I colored the tiny bottle brush Christmas trees as well as the seam binding. For some shimmery detail, I sprinkled the tins with snowflake like glitter and glass glitter.

I'm entering these ornaments in the current Anything But Cute challenge where the challenge theme is: It's Ornamental:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
