Hi there! Hope you are having a great week! Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of my sweet daughter Angie along with beautiful papers from the Pion Design My Precious Daughter collection:

I embellished with a variety of flowers from my stash, die cut foliage and die cut hearts:

The fun sentiment is from a new stamp set designed by Kasia:

I added lots of texture using the Brick Wall stencil along with fiber paste and for the splashes of color, I randomly applied the following 13arts mists: Bordeaux, Turquoise Light and Violet:

Rather than hand journaling, I cut out one of the wonderful sayings right from the paper as well as three pretty little butterflies:

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week's challenge theme is: "all scratched up". From rubbing with steel wool to sandpaper, giving an aged look with a brown ink pad to crumpling and then flattening back out some paper, or even using a scratched up looking stamp ~ this week we challenge you to embrace imperfection and get grungy!

I was inspired to create a grungy canvas with scratched edge butterflies:




Striving to create a grungy canvas, I reached for a variety of Distress Ink Refills, Distress Stain and Distress ink to add color to the burlap panel filled with vintage trinkets and die cut embellishments:

Wanting to add more texture to the canvas, I scratched up the edges of the die cut crackle painted butterflies:

time flies 39

 Hi there! I hope you have a terrific weekend! I'm so happy to be joining along with the current Vintage Journey challenge where the theme is "time flies". 

I scrapped a photo of Connor that was taken 14 years ago on his very 1st day of Kindergarten. It doesn't seem possible that he has not graduated from high school and that we will be moving him into his dorm within the next few weeks! time sure flies!!!

 I combined beautiful Pion Design patterned papers from the For Father collection along with a variety of Tim Holtz dies including the: gears and cogs, flowers (blue), a clock face and wings. To give the pieces an aged look, I applied various colors of Distress Stains and Vintage Photo embossing powder:

 All three blue flowers were made using Pion Design paper and Tim Holtz dies. For a little added interest, I applied metallic Distress Stain to the edges of the flowers:

Hi there! I hope you are having a great week. I've been having so much fun getting inky and playing with various inks, paints, texture paste and various mediums. Today I have a few mixed media projects to share. First up is a layout that I made featuring a photo of Connor that I took prior to his high school graduation ceremony a couple of months ago.

For sketch inspiration, I joined along with Prima's August Build A Page sketch challenge. 

I combined fun papers and flowers from the Cartographer collection that I purchased 8 months ago! 

All the flowers with the exception of the three teal ones are Prima flowers. The leaves were die cut using beautiful Prima dies:

I added lots of texture and design to the background using a Prima stencil along with a variety of inks and paints from my stash:

I finally used another item that I just had to have ~ the fun Prima industrial lights vintage trinkets. The title was stamped using one of the very first Stampin' Up stamp sets that I purchased about 12 years ago:

I wanted to join along with the Craft Hoarder's Anonymous challenge which is to upcycle something so I die cut the flourishes from an upcycled corrugated cardboard box:

My second project is a mixed media card that I made for Connor who has just completed his scuba diving certification. Surely this will come in handy as Connor will be leaving in a few weeks to attend college in California to study Marine Biology.

I added texture to the background using texture paste, the Fishnet stencil, various inks, and paints. 

I can't get enough of the crackled finish!
