Hi there! I hope you're having a great weekend! Today I'm joining along this week's PTI Make It Monday challenge where the challenge is to create a project using Die Cut Stencil Shapes:
I created the die cut stenciled background using one of the pretty fancy flourishes dies:
For the focal point, I stamped and die cut a pretty Christmas tree from the Love Lives Here: Holiday set then layered it on a small die cut doily and snowflake:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

Autumn wishes 22

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, October 18, 2016 @ 9:57 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Today I'm sharing an autumn themed project that I was inspired by the beautiful color palette for the October Prima's Product Pick challenge:
I created a mixed media style tag which features a variety of Prima products including: texture, pretty embellishments and lots of shimmery details:
I made the pumpkin using chipboard and steel bladed dies, assembled then applied Prima crackle texture paste. For a bit of shimmer, I applied Prima Metallique Gold Rush acrylic paint. I embellished with various Prima flowers, a resin owl and glittery gold leaves:
To create the background, I applied a coat of Prima white gesso once dry, I added texture using a Prima stencil and Prima texture paste. After that layer was dry, I adhered Prima pebbles and Prima Roman numeral embellishments. For color, I painted on Prima purple mica powder:
For the final step, I splashed on the following Prima products: white gesso, Metallique Pink Blush and  Metallique Gold Rush acrylic paints:
I'm also joining along with the current Curtain Call Inspiration challenge where the theme is Glittery Gourds:
and I'm linking to this week's Paint Party Friday site:
Many thanks for stopping by!

Boo to you 14

Mona Pendleton | Monday, October 17, 2016 @ 2:00 PM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you had a great weekend! Today I have a couple of Halloween themed cards to share featuring fun ghosts from the PTI Friendship Fall Jar Fillers:
They are both very similar with the exception of the background and trim around the jar lid. Up first is the card with the stamped newspaper print background:

I changed up the second one using an embossing folder to create a dry embossed background:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the current colourQ challenge with the ONE spot color being ORANGE and for the sketch, I was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches sketch but missed the deadline:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ hope you have a great day / evening!

Happy holidays 21

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, October 11, 2016 @ 7:40 PM | , , , ,

Hi! Hope you are having a great week! Today I'm joining along with the PTI October Release Create Along With Us challenge where we are challenged to select something that the DT team has created during the release that inspired us and create our own version.
I was inspired by this beautiful card created by Betsy Veldman:
Here's my interpretation:
I combined a couple different PTI stamp sets including the PTI Wreath For All Seasons along with The Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers. For the focal point, I stamped then heat embossed the twig wreath from the Wreath For All Seasons stamp set:
Since it was rather a clean and simple card to create, I created a set of 4:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current RetroSketches sketch challenge:
Up next is an 8" x 10" painting that I painted for my sweet sister who loves hummingbirds:
This is my first attempt at painting both hummingbirds and hollyhocks. I'm up against the clock to get this painting in the mail to my sister because her birthday is October 25th and she is the dear sister who is battling terminal breast / brain cancer.

I'm linking this painting to the current Paint Party Friday site:

I'm thinking pink! 30

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, October 6, 2016 @ 12:11 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Today I'm thinking pink in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness month! I have a few projects to share showcasing my support for my dear sister who is currently battling end stage metastatic breast / brain cancer and all the other men and women around the world who are dealing with this terrible disease. Mammograms
First up is a layout that I created featuring my sweet sister and her dear daughter that was taken this summer:
I used a variety of Prima products including pretty papers, flowers, resin embellishments, stencil, texture paste, etc...

For sketch inspiration, I joined along with Prima's October Build A Page sketch challenge:
I also made a card for my dear sister. I'm joining along with this week's PTI Make It Monday challenge where Amy is challenging us to create a project featuring a background built with frames.
I don't own any PTI frames so I used a couple of various PTI dies to create my own:
The embellishments were also made using various PTI dies and the sentiment is from the Vintage Linen stamp set:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the current ColourQ challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
