thinking of you 38

Hi there! Today I have a super cute project to share that my sweet daughter Angie made and gifted to me for recently celebrated birthday. Angie is a talented artist and one of her mediums is welding. She made this sweet girl for me using various trinkets and treasures that she has collected from the metal scrap yard and thrift stores. She sits beautifully in my craft room :)
I also have a card to share featuring a trio of fun stamped teacups on a mixed media background.
I inked up one of the pretty PTI teacups stamps, spritzed with water then stamped on a die cut coordinating tea cup that was cut using a watercolor paper. The background was created using a MFT stencil, Prima Matte Gel along with a piece of watercolor paper. Once dry, I added color by randomly dragging ink pads across the paper.
I'm entering the card in the following challenges:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the retro sketches sketch challenge:
The Friday Mashup! challenge ~ create a project with "3 elements on it"
and the Try it on Tuesday challenge ~ "Tea Cups or....Mugs".

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great day / evening!
Be Sweet :)

a beautiful world 35

Hi there! I couldn't wait to play along with the current Mixed Media Place Creative Gym ~ Architecture challenge:
I wanted to scrap a beautiful Venetian building that Scott snapped a photo of while we were traveling down a Venetian street on a boat:
What's not to love about all that amazing design and detail in the structure?
If you look closely, you'll not the gondola parked out front curbside:
I added lots of texture using a brick stencil which seemed appropriate for the challenge :)
I also added lots of Prima micro beads for additional texture and design along with random stamping using a stamp from Prima's Rust & Dust stamp set:
Once the background was created, I embellished with a variety of Prima blossoms and die cuts including leaves and a doily:
I'm also joining entering this layout in the following challenges:

Hi there! So happy the weekend is here! Today I have a card to share featuring a variety of pretty ColourArte Radiant rain Shimmery Mists.
I combined ColourArte Radiant rain Shimmery Mists with stamps, glass beads and glitter. I was inspired by a former DT mate ~ Joyce to give my hand at creating using a whole lot of white space.
I pulled out a couple of my favorite Stampin' Up stamp sets that date back to 1996 and 1999! Oldies but goodies!

For color inspiration, I joined along with the current ColourQ colour challenge:
and for sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current MOJO Monday sketch challenge
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

Friends 32

Mona Pendleton | Monday, June 22, 2015 @ 4:58 PM | , , , ,

Happy Summer to all whom are celebrating the Summer season! Do you have a family vacation planned or anything else fun? Speaking of summer, I have a layout to share featuring a photo of Scott and Connor that was taken while we were on a summer vacation several years ago.
I combined a couple colors of  ColourArte Radiant Rain to the background and embellished with a fun Gina's Designs Mixed Media Fragments: Retro  chipboard piece:
The boys went on a day diving excursion together off the shores of Maui. Since Meredith had no interest in diving, I had to sit the day of diving out. Bummed I didn't get to hold a sea urchin in the wild but maybe I'll have that opportunity this summer :)
I added lots of texture and design to the background using the Prima Netting stencil along with Prima Modeling Paste and ColourArte Radiant Rain Solar Gold and Blue Ice
For the title, I used a Prima Junkyard Findings Vintage Trinkets Typo Bulb:
and embellished with a variety of flowers and seashells from my stash:

I played along with the following challenges:
the Frilly and Funkie challenge where the theme is "It's Summer",
The Artistic Stamper June challenge where the theme is "Summer is on it's Way", (I used a PaperArtsy rubber stamp along with white acrylic paint for some background stamping),
the Scraps N Pieces Challenge where the theme is "Real Friends":
as well as the inspiring Scraps N Pieces Challenge sketch:

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day/evening!
