Believe in Pink 46

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, August 30, 2012 @ 9:45 AM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great day / night! I have the day off from work and spent the morning at the Veterinarian's office with my little girl Gretchen who unfortunately has an infected paw pad :( Always something...

I made this card just for the heck of it simply because I liked the sentiment "Believe in Pink" from  MFT Clearly Sentimental About Audrey Hepburn :) I LOVE the color pink and I was just feeling it so I ran with it.
I made a pretty English Rose felt flower using Die-namics Plentiful Petals along with MFT English Rose felt and layered it on top of doilies made using Die-namics Dainty Doily DUO.
Thanks so much for visiting! Off to finish running errands before Connor and Meredith come home from school. Hope you enjoy whatever it is that you are doing! Be Sweet :)

Hugs...CR84FN61 Week 2 65

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, August 26, 2012 @ 12:45 AM | ,

Hi there dear blogging friends! I hope you are having an awesome weekend! Things have been a little hectic in my corner of the world lately. Last week, we had traveled to San Francisco and had a great time but unfortunately, Scott since has been feeling under the weather with a mild case of the flu :( Surely the 60 degree or so temperature difference has something to do with it, mass public transit and the fact that the climate changes at the drop of a hat there, ranging from sunny and 70 degrees to 50 with a dense fog.

Before I get to my CR84FN61 project, I just wanted to share with you all what an awesome company  Ellison / Sizzix is! Here's my saga: Last year for Mother's Day, Scott surprised me with a Vagabond to replace my dying Sizzix Big Shot. Call me lazy but I LOVE the ease of pushing an electric button and I love the quiet whisper not to mention the fact that that little suitcase looks REALLY neat in my crafting studio aka: kitchen :) LOL !!! Well, when I was preparing for a class last month at 4:00 am in the morning, my Vagabond starting making this horrendous noise and the feed would not accept the dies to cut! YIKES!!! I reached customer service at Ellison later in the morning, she asked all sorts of questions and passed the info on to the Warranty Dept. The next day, Ashley followed up with an email instructing me to ship the Vagabond to Ellison with the prepaid shipping label. They needed to inspect the machine to see if I damaged it or if it was a manufacturer's defect. Mind you, the date of purchase  was 2 months past the warranty! Low and behold, one week later I received AWESOME news that Ellison was going to REPLACE my Vagabond with a BRAND NEW machine!!! It arrived yesterday! Now, is that AWESOME customer service??? THANK YOU Ellison!!!

You still have a few days to join along with the pretty CR84FN61 Color Combo:
This week, I created a mixed media layout featuring a photo of my sweet daughter Angie and our former dog Oakley. This photo was taken nearly 13 years ago when Angie was only 9 years old! YIKES!!! Time sure does fly!
I used a combination of paint, molding paste, gesso, sprays, inks and mists along with 4 different stencils and lots of metal doo dads. The fun Chevron pattern was created using a Crafter's Workshop stencil along with molding paste.
The chipboard letters are from Imaganinarium Designs and the Diamond texture was created using a Crafter's Workshop stencil and molding paste.
The circles pattern was created using a Crafter's Worshop stencil
The pretty pattern shown below was created using the Pink Paislee Mistables Misting Mask.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Creative Scrappers challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the CR84FN site to see all the beautiful samples from many of the DT members! Have a great Sunday!

A Camellia Trio...WMS August Release Waltz 81

Mona Pendleton | Friday, August 24, 2012 @ 11:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Waltz! Today, Claire will be releasing all of the following 9 stamp sets: Light of the World Sentiments, Bright Season, Little Lanterns, Vintage Garden Flowers, Vintage Garden Produce, Camellia, Opera Tags, Vintage Garden Apple blossom Seeds and Vintage Seed Packet in the WMS store. You should have arrived from Belinda's blog, if not you can head on over to Claire's blog where the celebration began and for complete details.

Today I am sharing three rather Clean And Simple cards featuring a combination of stamps from both Camellia and Vintage Seed Packet. I do LOVE alls the bells and whistles but I wanted to showcase one of the many beautiful blossoms and leaves from the Camellia set. No patterned papers, no bows, no buttons, not even one homemade flower!!! No extra postage required to mail this set.

Each blossom is layered on a different Die-namics doily as well as dry embossed backgrounds made using various Sizzix embossing folders. Each card also features a different sentiment.

The card below features a Camellia blossom stamped on a piece of Sno Cone cardstock layered on a Die-namics Dainty Doily DUO die cut and the sentiment is from Vintage Seed Packet.
I stamped the beautiful Camellia blossom and leaves using VersaMark ink, embossed with fine white embossing powder then trimmed around the edges with a sharp scissors. Here's a close up showing how all the fine detail seems to come to life when heat embossed:
The next card up features a Camellia blossom stamped on a piece of Grapesicle cardstock layered on a Die-namics Dizzy Doily die cut and the sentiment is from Vintage Seed Packet.
and my third card features a Camellia blossom stamped on a piece of Pink Lemonade cardstock layered on a Die-namics Open Scallop Doily DUO die cut and the sentiment is from Camellia
Thanks so much for visiting! To continue with the waltz, please be sure to visit Bonnie's blog.

Don't be afraid...WMS August Previews Day 3 53

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Hi there dear blogging friends! Welcome to Day 3 of the August Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today, Claire and many of the DT members are sharing projects featuring Little Lanterns, Bright Season and Light of the World Sentiments.

I made a card featuring combining Little Lanterns and Light of the World Sentiments.
Both of these sentiments are jam packed with many images that may be easily mixed and matched!
To create my card, I stamped the elegant lantern and candle from  Little Lanterns using VersaMark ink, embossed using fine white embossing powder then stamped the candle glow using SU Barely Banana ink. I stamped one of the many sentiments from Light of the World Sentiments next to the lantern.
I created a window using a Die-namics Designer Labels 2 STAX die then I stamped the Shine sentiment on the underlying piece of MFT Heavyweight Cardstock Whip Cream.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Unscripted Sketches challenge:
Please be sure to stop by the following designers blogs to see what they have created: Anya Schrier, Becca Feeken, Belinda Chang Langner, Bonnie Sharp, Clare Buswell, Julia AstonJennifer Holmes, Kelly Schirmer, Laurie Schmidlin, Lynn Mercurio, Mona Pendleton (that's me), Sandie Dunne, Sarah Martina Parker, Tosha Leyendekker and Claire Brennan (Owner).

Boo!...MFT August VIP Collection New Product Tour 49

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, August 21, 2012 @ 7:00 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Today marks the release of the newest MFT VIP Collection, Pure Innocence Costumed Cuties. This VIP Collection is packed full of super adorable (and fun) products! You can buy it HERE. Hurry, because quantities are limited.

You can check out what the rest of the design team created with the new
Pure Innocence Costumed Cuties , HERE, on the MFT Blog.
I have two projects to share using these darling products. First up is a small, (measures 7" x 7"), Halloween wall hanging:
After cutting a frame using the fun Die-namics Peek-a-Boo Trio die, I combined the two sweet faces from both the Pure Innocence Owl Costume and Pure Innocence Prehistoric Girl stamp sets and featured them in the windows of the Die-namics Peek-a-Boo Trio die cut along with the Boo! sentiment from Costumed Cuties Sentiments mini. I stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Costumed Cuties Sentiments mini stamp set on a tab cut using a Die-namics Bracket Tab die.
Next up is a card featuring the sweet girl all dressed up from the Pure Innocence Owl Costume stamp set.
I colored the darling Pure Innocence girl, fussy cut around her. I added a Blue Skies Felt rolled rose made using a Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses die and added a Blue Raspberry Button. The sentiment on the card front is from the Pure Innocence Owl Costume stamp set.
The Too Cute to Spook sentiment featured on the inside of the card (shown below) is from the Costumed Cuties Sentiments mini and was stamped on a die cut strip made using a die from the Die-namics Sweet Stack Labels set then layered on a label made using the Die-namics Sweet Stack Labels set as well.
Thanks so much for visiting!
Don't forget to head over to the MFT Blog to check out what the rest of the team has created using the contents of the Pure Innocence Costumed Cuties VIP Collection ~ Click HERE
