Thank You Spellbinders 77

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, March 30, 2011 @ 9:53 PM | , ,

Hi there! Today is the last day of my DT term on the Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Design Team. I am here to share a card I made thanking the owners of Spellbinders™ Paper Arts, Stacey and Jeff Caron, for the amazing opportunity to design for their awesome company and to thank all of the staff including Kim, Cathy, Beth, Terre and Bonnie for making my term enjoyable! I would also like to thank the blog team members especially Holly and Margie for all their help and encouragement throughout the year, as well as the entire Spellbinders™ DT :) It has been my pleasure and honor creating amongst so many talented women :) Best of luck to all of you with your creative endeavors!
Although I will not be on the Spellbinders DT, not much will change here in my little corner of the world. If you take a peek around my blog, I am quite sure you will notice how much I love the product! I pulled out a few different sheets of beautifully patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection and added a few embellishments including a heart made from a recycled cardboard box!
I was recently inspired by Donna Salazar to pull out some corrugated cardboard and paint and get my craft on! :) I didn't have any of the fancy corrugated product on hand, but I sure did have a recycling box full of cardboard boxes! :) LOL I cut a cardboard heart using a S4-136 Classic Heart die template then brushed on a little paint. One of my favorite unique features about Spellbinders dies, is that beautifully embossed edge that you can see in the photo below on the sweet tag:
Well, that about sums it up. Thank you for visiting my blog today and thanks again Spellbinders for such an amazing opportunity :) I will be back tomorrow, April 1st sharing some Waltzingmouse inspiration for FOUR straight days! Hope to see you then ~ have a great day and Be Sweet :)

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 26, 2011 @ 8:55 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! It's time for another CR84FN Color Challenge! Thanks to all who played along with last week's color combo ~ so many wonderful cards to see and many thanks to all of you who take time to leave such sweet comments!

I would like to take a moment to thank our Guest Designer, Deb Hickman for all of her hard work and weekly inspiration over the past month :)
This week we are playing with GARNET, CHARTREUSE AND CREAM. The beautiful color graphic was created using photos courtesy of Adam at embrace life photography.

Once again, I turned to some gorgeous Webster's Pages patterned paper and many of my favorite other papercrafting supplies to create my card.
I stamped a label from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No. 18 using a S4-310 Labels Eighteen die template to cut/emboss the beautiful image then layered a gorgeous Prima flower on top along with a few leaves made using S4-321 Nested Leaves die templates.
To create the tag, I stamped the WITH LOVE sentiment from Waltzingmouse Seasons Of Love - Tags   using a S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants die template to cut/emboss the image and attached it to a beautiful bow made using Vanilla Bean Vintage crinkly ribbon Courtesy of Kimberly @ My Craft Spot.

Please hop on over to CR84FN for COMPLETE details on how to join in the fun and for some awesome inspiration, please visit all the designers blogs:

Happy Birthday Angie...WMSC40 48

Mona Pendleton | @ 2:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a terrific weekend so far :) Anything fun going on? No big plans here, just planning on enjoying the weekend hanging around the house with my family and sneaking away for a couple of hours to enjoy a bicycle ride with my sweet sister Tina :)

It's time again for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:
and here's my take on it:
I made this Birthday card for my sweet daughter, Angie who will be celebrating her 21st birthday on March 27th :) I stamped a banner image from Vintage Banners using a S5-028 Nested Pennants die template to cut/emboss the pretty image. I dry embossed the musical note background using a Sizzix embossing folder and finished off the card with stitching on a piece of vibrant patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Soiree Collection. For color inspiration, I referred to the current Pink Paislee HOT hues color combo:
I made this layout featuring my sweet Angie prior to her 8th Grade Graduation formal dance. Can't believe it has been nearly 7 years already! Time surely flies! sigh...

This layout combines stamps from both Waltzingmouse Vintage Banners and Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology.
I just love those bright and cheerful colors surely to brighten one's day :)
That's all I have to share today, so I hope you have enjoyed what I made and maybe feel inspired to play along! Please be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for some amazing inspiration from the Mischief Makers and several other Waltzingmouse DT members :) I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN challenge. Be Sweet :)

Hi there! Hope you are all having a terrific Tuesday and enjoying Spring! Maybe you are on Spring break enjoying the beach on some exotic island or perhaps, doing some Spring cleaning or maybe even planting some flowers? Whatever you may be doing, hope you are enjoying life :)
I stamped a label image designed by Nina Bracket from gina K. Lovely Labels Two using a combination of S4-301 Labels Sixteen and S4-116 Standard Circles SM die templates to cut/emboss a frame. For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Card Patterns Sketch 107. If you are looking for some fab inspiration, check out the site!
Once I had the frame all inked up, I adhered it to a gorgeous Crafty Secrets Vintage Image and stamped various postage images from Tattered Angels all over the pretty Prima polka dot patterned paper.

Helping a "Friend of Mine"... 55

Mona Pendleton | Monday, March 21, 2011 @ 8:00 AM | , , ,

Hi there! I am here today to celebrate the Grand Opening of The Craft's Meow online store owned by my sweet friend, Lisa Hjulberg. Many of you may be familiar with Lisa as she was formerly  the Mouse Keeper/DT Coordinator of Waltzingmouse Stamps who has now opened her own online papercrafting store. Claire, Owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps has designed a few EXCLUSIVE stamps for The Craft's Meow. In addition to carrying all your favorite papercrafting products, Lisa will specialize in selling custom card making kits that will include these exclusive stamps. ***The Craft's Meow online store is scheduled to open at 12:00 NOON PST today March 21st***
I created a card featuring both the gorgeous butterfly image and sweet "Friend of mine" sentiment that coordinate with Crate Paper's Portrait Collection which I currently do not have so, I used some lovely paper from the girl's paperie & K&Company instead.

I stamped the butterfly image using VersaMark ink then embossed with fine white embossing powder. Love the incredible detailed butterfly!
Love the beautiful font of the "Friend of mine"sentiment:
That's all I have for today. Thanks so much for looking :) Please feel free to visit The Craft's Meow store blog to read about all the new and exciting events happening and where you will find a list of the other friend's of The Craft's Meow who will also be sharing projects today. you are MISSED...WMSC39 57

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:38 AM | , ,

Hi there! Do you have anything fun going on this weekend? I am planning a fun date night with my hubby :) He loves to go the movie theater so I am going to surprise him and take him to this awesome place called iPic Theatre~the ultimate movie experience! Have you ever been? We haven't but I sure have heard nothing but great things so I am looking forward to it!

It's time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:
and here's my take on it:
What? No patterned paper? Nope, I challenged myself to create my own so I pulled out Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums stamping both sizes of the solid blooms then adding the pretty leaf images from Faux Fun Circles.

For color inspiration, I played along with this week's color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. If you would like to see some wonderful inspiration, be sure to see what the PDCC DT created!
I hadn't made anything using this particular darling pennant image from Bitty Banners as of yet, so I inked up both the polka dot and the plaid image so I did just that! A die template from S5-028 Nested Pennants was used to cut/emboss each little pennant.
Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Bitty Banners, Fancy Phrases, Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums, Faux Fun Circles

Flourishes Blog Hop 68

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, March 17, 2011 @ 10:00 PM | ,

Hi there! Today I am joining along with the Flourishes DT as a Spellbinders DT member sharing what I have created using both the Flourishes Birthday Pennants set and Strips and Stripes background set combined with Spellbinders™ S5-028 Nested Pennants & S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants.

When Flourishes first laid eyes on two of the brand new die sets fresh off the production line at Spellbinders, they just knew that they needed a stamp set to coordinate with these funky and fresh dies! Are you ready to take a peek?
This fun set just screams celebration and offers 6 different pennants and flags all designed to coordinate perfectly with S5-028 Nested Pennants & S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants. There are also 9 sentiments and 8 accents in the set that you can use to deck out your pennant shapes in fun and different ways! Want a little more to coordinate with your cards? How about our new Strips and Stripes background set? This set offers three strips to use together as one background or separate as three different strips that coordinate with our Birthday Pennants set! Since the set was just released last night, we can show you it in its entirety now!
Because the creators at Flourishes just knew this set was a match made in Heaven with the Spellbinder's Pennant Dies, they asked some of Spellbinder's ever-so-talented designers to join the Flourishes team for a little show and tell! Make sure to hop on over and see....
The Birthday Pennants set is full of so many images, it was difficult to choose just which one I wanted to use. I decided to go with one of the larger beautiful pennant images stamping it in various colors  then using a S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants die template to cut/emboss each pennant.
I created the polka dot background using the polka dot image from Strips and Stripes background set. With so many images available, I stamped another piece of patterned paper using the little rose and leaf images from Birthday Pennants set.
Again, so many sentiments to choose from! I created a tag by stamping the SO HAPPY FOR YOU sentiment from Birthday Pennants then using a S4-190 Labels Four die template to cut/emboss the image.
Would you like to win these sets? Just leave a comment on the Flourishes blog ~ click HERE. Flourishes will draw one lucky name for both sets and announce it tomorrow on the Flourishes blog!

Thanks so much Flourishes and Spellbinders for this opportunity to create with these amazing products and thanks to all of you for looking! Hope you have a great day :)
