March Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day #3 65

Mona Pendleton | Monday, February 28, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , , ,

If you are looking for my March Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day #3. Claire will be releasing FIVE new stamp sets on Tuesday, March 1 & for the next 3 days, Claire, the Waltzingmouse DT & myself will be sharing some awesome samples showcasing these amazing stamps!  Today, we are all previewing Bitty Banners and Vintage Banners:
I scrapped a layout of my family on a local horseback riding outing. The banner strew about the top was made using stamps from both Bitty Banners and Vintage Banners. The large triangular shaped images were stamped using Vintage Banners, cut using a S5-028 Nested Pennants die template and layered on a lacy pennant cut using a S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennant die template. The semi-circular shaped banner was created by inking up an image from Bitty Banners, cut using a S4-116 Standard Circles SM die template then layered on top of a lacy circle that was cut in half.
That's all I have for you today - for some awesome inspiration be sure to see what Claire (Owner), Julia, Lynn, Anya, Bonnie, Jennifer, Belinda, Sandie, Carly and Sarah have created.

I hope you come see what I have to share tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1st 2 PM Eastern for the Waltzingmouse Stamps March Waltz.

Thanks so much for visiting! Be Sweet :)

A Patchwork Egg & Star 66

Mona Pendleton | Monday, February 21, 2011 @ 6:17 PM | , , ,

Hi there! It rained pretty much all day Sunday here in Phoenix so we spent the day at home just relaxing. Well, I spent some time working on a few crafty projects :) It seems as though a lot of my readers liked the Patchwork Star card and were interested in how I made it so I made a few other patchwork cards and put together a tutorial to share :)

First up, is an Easter card featuring a Patchwork Egg:
This patchwork egg is showcased on beautiful Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection patterned paper. For sketch inspiration, I played along with the Cleans & Simple #128 sketch challenge:
and for color inspiration, I referred to this week's CR84FN16 pastel palette:
Can you see the shimmer from the glitter on the egg?
Next up is another New Baby card: this one a bit more girly: (Click HERE if you would like to see the "boy" version)
I referred to this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #35 for sketch inspiration:
Here's the Patchwork Tutorial:
Step 1: Stamp various sizes and patterned Easter Eggs from Nestie Eggs stamp set.
Step 2: Use a S4-126 Classic Squares LG die template to cut/emboss squares:
Step 3: Position and adhere squares in desired pattern using a piece of grid/graphic/lined paper for guidance.
Step 4: Position and secure die template in place using a few pieces of tape on outer edges then cut/emboss using die cut machine.
Hope you give it a try! Would love to see what you create :) Thanks so much for looking! Be Sweet :)
