Shower Me With LOVE! 19

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, December 30, 2009 @ 10:00 PM | , , , ,

Hi Girls! Another "short" work week for me - YEAH!!! That means more crafty time :) First, I would like to thank the girls at the Embellish Magazine Blog for selecting my Snow Boy Friend card in their Top 6 for the Embellish Snowflakes Color Challenge :) I am doing the Happy Dance!!! Please be sure to visit the Embellish Magazine site & see all the beautiful creations!

This week, I am honored to be the Guest Designer at The Play Date Cafe along side the super talented Julie Ranae & all the girls on The Play Date Cafe's Design Team. This week Sweet Sarah is the Hostess & she has chosen this YUMMY color combination for The Play Date Cafe's Creativity Challenge #10, PDCC10. Sarah was inspired by a necklace that a friend had given her! How sweet is that? Sarah said "In certain lights this necklace is more of an orange with turquoise and brown but during the transition from camera to computer it's become a more dusky pink." Oh thank goodness - I love anything pink ;)

Here is my Shower Me With LOVE card: My interpretation of these colors are SU Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink & Chocolate Chip. The DP that I used to make this card is a retired collection from SU 2006! This was my very first pack of paper that I purchased from SU when my dear friend, Shana introduced me to stamping. I was saving it for a RAINY day! :)

After stamping the PTI flowery Umbrella image, I cut it out & pieced it on the embossed white oval then layered it on several more Scalloped Ovals. I love to layer anything & everything!!!

For sketch inspiration, I played along with this weeks Mercy's fun sketch, MTSC54.

I love this color combination! The pink & blue really show up nicely when layered on the rich chocolatey colored paper. For some great eye catching inspiration please be sure to stop by The Play Date Cafe, the Embellish Magazine & Mercy's site to see what ALL these girls have created!

Do you have any BIG New Year's plans? I would love to hear about them :) It is going to be a busy weekend here at Cupcake's! We have to ring in The New Year on Friday, Saturday is a NEW fun Just Us Girls sketch challenge & Sunday is slated to be THE OFFICIAL RELEASE day for My Time Made Easy LLC! I hope you have time to stop by to see what I have been up to :) Be Sweet!

Inspirational Snowmen - December PTI Blog Hop 49

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, December 26, 2009 @ 3:05 PM | , , , , ,

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a peaceful Holiday :) It's hard to believe that this is the last PTI Blog Hop of 2009!!! This special addition of the PTI monthly Blog Hop is all about inspiration! The holiday season will be coming to a close & before we put away all those decorations, Nichole has challenged us to create a card or other type of project that reflects some of the holiday spirit found in our home for our challenge this month!

I LOVE snowmen!!!! One of my MOST cherished holiday decorations is the Snowman cookie jar & mug set that my sweet sister Tina gave me several years ago that you see above in the photograph.

Here is MY take on these adorable Snowmen:

When I first saw the PTI Holiday Button Bits set, I was hooked! I think this snowman image is one of the cutest :) I inked him up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored him in using the various Copic markers mentioned in my Ingredients List below.

Although Christmas Day has passed, Winter is here to stay for awhile! Here in Phoenix today we are experiencing sunny blue skies but temps in the High 50's. Brrrr.... There is nothing like a hot steamy mug of Hot Cocoa stirred with a Chocolate Peppermint stick! Yummm... I made this gift set using the FREE MTME © Cutesy Cover template that I cut out using my Cricut Expressions. I custom sized this template to fit on a piece of SU Bashful Blue 12" x 12" cs. The cut measurements were 9.85"W x 11.11"W with the final measurements being 4"W x 5"H x 1.5"D. Perfect to hold these few packets of Hot Cocoa & Peppermint sticks with room to spare! After printing a sheet of the My Time Made Easy Pretty Printable © Throw Me A Line & The 12 Days of Snowflakes digital paper, I cut a few pieces then sewed them on to the large scalloped square.

For a bit of distressing, I dabbed on Ranger Tim Holtz Antique Photo ink in various places including the tips of the double layered Martha Stewart snowflakes! Thanks for hopping by! Can't wait to see all the other inspirational creations :) Be Sweet!

Just Us Girls Template Challenge...JUGS13 38

Mona Pendleton | Friday, December 25, 2009 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , ,

Hi Girls! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday celebration :) Thanks to all of you who had the opportunity to play along with last week's color challenge! There were some pretty awesome creations out there to look at! This week, Dana is our lovely Hostess for the Just Us Girls 13 3-D / Template Challenge with the option to use the color BLUE & this week's challenge is sponsored by the very creative & talented Kelleigh Ratzlaff. There will also be blog candy for ONE lucky winner & a special discount available for all participants at the Digi Chick shop. For complete details, please hop over to the Just Us Girls site!

Here is my sample of Kelleigh's fun Take - Out Box template:
The base color of my Take - Out Box is made from Bazzill Guacamole cs. For all 4 sides, I cut panels using SU Chocolate Chip & BoBunny DP then I inked the edges a tad using Ranger Tim Holtz Antique Photo ink. After adhering all layers together, I stitched them on the main box.

To incorporate the color BLUE with my project, I made a few accent flowers using various size EK Success punches & Cuttlebug scalloped flower dies. To add some texture I ran all the flowers through the die cutting machine & then dabbed on a bit of distressing ink.

I made a tag to accompany the easy to make & versatile Take - Out Box template using the Spellbinders Labels 4 dies. I love flourishes!!!! So I inked up a flourish image from the SU Priceless set with SU Wild Wasabi ink & stamped it on the tag. I distressed the edges a bit & "popped" in an XL eyelet using the Crop A Dile II Big Bite.

I hope you can join along with Just Us Girls this week :) For complete details, please visit the Just Us Girls challenge site & be sure to visit ALL the DT girls & Kelleigh's blog to see how they created their project! Thank you Kelleigh for providing Just Us Girls with fantastic templates to play with & Hugs Dana for securing this challenge sponsorship with Kelleigh :) Thanks for looking! We look forward to seeing a variety of wonderfully decorated templates & don't forget to try to use the color BLUE!

Once you have your creation photographed, be sure to go to the Just Us Girls website and post a direct link to your project on our Mr. Linky. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by! Be Sweet!

Let's Stuff Our Stockings! 26

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, December 23, 2009 @ 12:17 PM |

Hi Girls! While I am tying up some loose ends with all of my Christmas preparations, I realized I needed some goodies to stuff in "the stockings that are hung by my chimney with care!" The My Time Made Easy LLC Pretty Packaging Cutesy Cover © template designed by Lauren Meader popped into my mind immediately.

First, let me tell you that the My Time Made Easy store is up & running at lightening speed! :) & ALL of the products that I mention in this post are available NOW!

Here are my Cutesy Cover © Stocking Stuffers:

(Note: you can rotate this image 360 degrees by doing the following... Within the photo, click and drag your mouse pointer to the left or right to spin the box! You can also use the left and right arrows on your keyboard or use the left and right arrows icons. You can also zoom in or out to get a better view of the box by using the (+) and (-) icons. Lastly, you can simply press the Play icon (circular arrow) to rotate the box automatically. Give it a try!)

I whipped these FREE Cutesy Cover © templates up in a jif! Using my Cricut Expressions with the SCAL program, I sized the template to 6 1/4" W x 7.37 " H, the finished size measures 2 5/8" W x 3 1/4" H x 7/8" D. Making this the perfect size to hold a handful of Hershey Nuggets! All of the MTME Pretty Packaging © templates are available in various cutting formats making them easy to use by everyone!
The actual template was cut using The FREE 12 Days of Snow Flakes © Pretty Printables Tan digital paper. With just a few clicks on my computer, the paper was immediately printed on my printer, available for use! How easy & custom is that? After scoring & adhering the template, I attached a combination consisting of: a 1" strip of The Throw Me A Line © Pretty Printables Magenta/Tan digital paper, a 3/4" strip of scalloped punched paper that I adhered then stitched together. After tying on the bow, I attached a few jingle bells & button.

Be sure to head on over to the My Time Made Easy store & see what suits your needs! I am sure you will not be disappointed!!! I can't wait to see what you create using these MTME products! Simply leave a comment with the link attached & I'll be sure to take a peek! :) Be Sweet!

All That Shimmers Is Gold.... 26

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, December 22, 2009 @ 1:25 AM | , , , , ,

Hi Girls! Happy First Day of Winter :) Hope you are all staying warm & safe where ever you may live. While the days to Christmas Day are dwindling down, I was able to create another special gift set for a dear friend of mine :) I would love to know what sort of weather conditions you experienced on the 1st Day of Winter 2009? Here in Phoenix, AZ it was about 65 degrees or so & sort of overcast. Be Sweet!

Here is my gift set:I wanted to make a custom gift box to pack those little Hershey Nuggets in, so I used the NEW My Time Made Easy "In A Pinch" Pretty Packages template © Lauren Meader. I cut this using my Cricut Expressions machine. Once assembled the final template measures 6 3/4" H x 3" W X 2" D. (Both panels for this size template fit perfectly on a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock).Perfect to accommodate my bag of treats :) Prior to assembling, I sewed all 4 multi-layered paper panels on. The Spellbinders Poinsettia's are layered x2, embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile EF & distressed with Ranger Tim Holtz Antique Photo ink. I tied it up with a BIG bow :)

The "In A Pinch" © MTME is such a versatile template that can be used for any occasion gift packaging year round & so much fun to accessorize!
I was so drawn to the color palette chosen by Jules this week at The Play Date Cafe. Jules describes these colors as "...more of a heavenly/angelic Christmas color scheme!" I think this color combo is so rich & elegant looking.
For some fun sketch inspiration, I played along with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #52, MTSC52. For more inspiration, please be sure to visit both The Play Date Cafe & the Lord Have Mercy site! With a close up view, you can see the beautiful gold shimmer on the K&Company DP.

Hi Everyone! Thanks to all of you got their hands dusty & played along with the Chalkboard technique challenge! This week Tracey is our lovely Hostess for the Just Us Girls Color Challenge!
Here is my LOVELY :) Flower Garden card that I made using this YUMMY color combo:I was at my local craft store the other day, browsing around & I found this cute BE MY VALENTINE stamp made by Stampabilities! How Swwweeeet is that? :) To make my card I inked up my new LOVELY stamp with VersaMark ink & embossed with white embossing powder. I repeated this with a SU heart image stamp for my background.

This is my LOVELY :) Flower Garden gift set surely to please my SWEETHEART :)I made a coordinating gift box using the FREE My Time Made Easy Cutesy Cover Pretty Packaging template available NOW for download at the My Time Made Easy store. Since the MTME templates are available in multiple cutting formats, I was able to use my Cricut Expressions to cut 2 various sizes of the MTME Cutesy Cover boxes. The larger of the 2 measures 3 3/4" W x 5" H & the smaller one measures 2" W x 2.5" H. These boxes make a perfect sized box for any ocassion!(Note: you can rotate this image 360 degrees by doing the following...

I love the multi-platform cutting format files available for the MTME templates because you can size the template to fit your needs with just a few clicks of a button on your personal electric cutting machine! TOTALLY CUSTOMIZABLE! This flower garden is bloomin' with LOVE! :) To make all these hearts, I used several tools: Fiskars Scalloped punch, Spellbinders Scalloped Heart & Heart dies & Cuttlebug heart dies. For little accents pieces, I sewed on several buttons.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge #117, MOJO117. If you haven't already, you should visit the MOJO girls & see what samples of inspiration they have to offer!

I hope you can color your palette with the BRILLIANT colors that Tracey has selected & join along in the fun this week with Just Us Girls :) For complete details, please visit the Just Us Girls challenge site & be sure to visit ALL the DT girls blogs to see how they created their project! The In A Pinch template pictured above was cut using my Cricut Expressions & the final size measures 3" W x 6 3/4" H. For accent panels on all 4 sides, I used the beautiful FREE Lavender MTME 12 Days of Snowflakes digital Pretty Printables paper. I found when I printed this paper from my printer, the Lavender file coordinates wonderfully with SU Pale Plum & Perfect Plum cs.

Of course I had to make a coordinating Gift set featuring several different items ALL using the FREE MTME 12 Days of Snowflakes digital Pretty Printables paper! Yes, FREE! You can head on over to the MTME store & not only download the 12 Days of Snowflakes digital paper but there is also several other freebies including MORE paper & templates!

I used the MTME 12 Days of Snowflakes paper as my background paper. All I did was sponge a tad of Ranger Tim Holtz Tea dye ink around the entire perimeter for a vintagey look!

This is a closeup of the gift tag cut from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cart. I stamped some various coordinating paper & sewed strips on to the tag. Using a Martha Stewart snowflake punch, I punched the snowflakes, inked the edges & layered them x2.

Thank You Cathy & Bill 20

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, December 16, 2009 @ 11:19 PM | , , , ,

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all doing well :) I had the day off today from work so I went Christmas shopping with my son & out to lunch :) After catching up with things at home, I sat down & made this card for our friends Cathy & Bill. As a birthday present for my DH, they treated us to a fabulous lunch at a local Golf Resort. The day flew by & I missed the deadline for Dawn McVey's color challenge, RSCC20, but I used the color combo regardless. Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist is my favorite color, it is the closest color match that I am able to find similar to Stampin' Up's retired Soft Sky. For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's fun sketch from Laura at 2 Sketches 4 You, 2S4Y41. I hope you have a great day & Thanks for stopping by! Be Sweet!

Here is my Thank You card:
The Thank You stamp is one solid image. It is from the retired SU Block Party set. I think it is really fun to stamp with because you can either use the image in its entirety or cut it a smaller desired size.

The flower embellies are made by punching 2 flowers using an EK Success flower punch, crinkling them up, running them through the Sizzix Big Shot Express, embossing with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The butterfly embellie was made the same way except is was cut using the Spellbinder's butterfly die. This was a pretty simple card to make because the background paper speaks for itself! It is a piece of My Mind's Eye DP that is embossed & glittery. I gave the lil' butterfly embellie antenaee using a piece of twine :)Ingredients Used: Stamps: SU Block Party Paper: My Mind's Eye DP, SU Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, PTI Aqua Mist, Kraft Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Antique Photo, SU Chocolate Chip Sprinkles: Spellbinders Butterfly die, EK Success border & flower punches, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF, PTI ribbon & buttons, twine from stash
