a season of Blessings

Hi there! One thing I miss about living in the northeastern US is the abundance of pretty fall foliage in my backyard. We are taking a road trip to Flagstaff located in northern AZ to soak in some of that natural beauty! With the change of seasons on my mind, I created a mixed media style Autumn art project featuring a homemade wreath on an 8" x 8" art board:
I was inspired by the September Mixed Media Place challenge moodboard for color:
To create the wreath, I die cut a collection chipboard of leaves, added lots of crackled texture paste then painted using a variety of glazes. In between the leaves, I tucked in some gathered twigs from my backyard :)
I embellished with a variety of metal trinkets:

I stamped and partially heat embossed a  sentiment using gold embossing powder. I wanted lots of texture on the background as well, so I using texture paste along with a stencil:
I'm also linking my project to the following sites: Stamps and Stencils challenge where we are challenged to use Metallics, Paint Party Friday and 30 in 30 Day 23.

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Be Sweet ;)
