Think Pink 29

Mona Pendleton | Friday, October 2, 2015 @ 6:48 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Prima click HERE is going PINK, along with millions of others, to help spread the word! Sharon asked me if I'd like to share anything personal regarding breast cancer, here's my response: I think many of us have known or knows someone who is battling breast cancer. Breast cancer or any cancer for that matter does not discriminate. As a RN, I have worked in the Oncology Unit for several years witnessing first hand the toll cancer takes on people's lives. I've lost a couple of girlfriends to breast cancer and have many that are survivors. Working as a RN in the Operating Room for the past 17 years, I've taken care of both male and female patients dealing with breast cancer as young as 18 years old. Needless to say, breast cancer has touched my life in so many ways, how about you?
I love the color pink and in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness month,I created a couple of cards. The first one up features a die cut pink bra surrounded with a variety of pink flowers:
The backgrounds were created with shades of pretty pink art ingredients and Color Bloom Sprays:

The second card was made using many of the same Prima products with the exception of the fun stencil that was used to create the textured background:
Lots of fun layers:
I'm entering the second card in the paper players sketch challenge as well as the current Words 2 Scrap By where the theme is Fight Like A Girl in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to stop by the Prima blog for additional inspiration!
Be Sweet ;)

Gorgeous cards for such a noble cause! You are right Mona, we have all known someone that either won or lost battle with cancer...one in seven women will get it...my sister in law lost her battle with it, her mother is a survivor though...
Most of us take life and health for granted until it affects us or someone we love, I always have to keep reminding myself how precious the health and life are...anyways don't want to go too deep here...I am glad you made these cards, cause they are stunning just like all your work is and they will bring smile to who ever gets them...
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs :)

This is delicate, feminine and ever so lovely Mona! Thanks for joining us at the Paper Players! My grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer when my dad was 15. I know there's still a long way to go in the battle with cancer. But at least there are now those who do survive it. And that is a blessing!
