With Love 72

Hi There! I obviously survived the weekend on call - when all is said & done - I am not only grateful for my job but feel so blessed to be healthy & sometimes taking care of sick people requiring surgery is quite the reminder. I am here today to share a lil' get well gift that I made for my 22 yr old son, Jerry who is getting 3 Wisdom teeth pulled this morning :( To create masculine projects is always a challenge for me but wanted to make him something a lil' special.

Here is my get well gift for my baby ;) Photographed from the front, it looks like a card don't you think? Don't be fooled:Actually, it is a recycled 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" clear acetate box that I have been hanging on to - driving my husband crazy! He couldn't see the tree through the forest :) Photographed straight on, you don't see the box - that is because I used the NEW Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® LF-161 Grand Labels One die templates. Have you had a chance to look at these BIG dies? If not, be sure to visit the Spellbinders™ on-line store to see the COMPLETE line! These Grand die templates are perfect for creating altered items, cards, tags, mini-books, scrapbook pages.... the possibilities are endless!Up close, you can see all the various layers:For color inspiration, I played along with this week's JustRite Stampers challenge which is to create your project using the photo below & for sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Card Patterns challenge #76. If you are looking for inspiration, please be sure to visit BOTH of these sites :)This is the recycled box & packaged soup that fits perfectly inside. Jerry is a Vegan so this is one soup he can hopefully enjoy.

Many of you asked me how I made the ribbon tape embellishments that I have shared over the past few days so I listened & put together this lil' tutorial. I bought the ribbon tape while shopping at CHA. There were 2 men set up at a table & were selling these products - no store front. The packaging is a generic clear acetate box with no information printed on it. I think it is safe to say, if you do a GOOGLE search, you will surely find a manufacturer who sells it :) I was the only customer & I am kickin' myself for not buying one in EVERY color available! Hind sight is 20/20 right? :(

Step 1: cut/emboss either a circle or scalloped circle for base (I used a S4-124 Classic Scalloped Circles LG die template)
Step 2: as you make your way around the base, adhereing ribbon tape, make approximately 1/8" pleats about every 1/4"-1/2", peeling backing off as you go.

Step 3: Adhere fan fold flower on top.

Step 4: Adhere embellishment of choice on top (I used various sized S4-114 Standard Circles LG die templates in combination with images from the JustRite Stampers Kaleidoscope Borders & Centers Round 2 3/8" set that work together perfectly)

Voila - SUPER EASY! If you make something using one of these ribbon tape embellishments - please feel free to email me a photo - would love to see it! :) That's all I have for today. Waiting patiently for Jerry's GF to call & let me know all is well :) I hope you enjoy your day! Thanks so much for looking - Be Sweet!

Supplies Used:

Stamps: JustRite Stampers: Victorian Nested Frames, Kaleidoscope Borders & Centers Round 2 3/8"

Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® LF-161 Grand Labels One,S4-114 Standard Circles LG, S4-124 Classic Scalloped Circles LG, Shapeabilities® S4-081 Tags Five, Borderabilities® S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand, GC-001 Grand Calibur
